In India, ensuring elementary education free of cost is a fundamental right, crucial for dignified survival. With a population of over one billion, the demand for primary teachers is substantial. To meet this demand, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) sets standards for teaching courses, including various programs like JBT, D.Ed, BTC, D.El.Ed, among others.
Individuals aspiring to pursue a teaching career can seek JBT admission in Delhi through the State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT) Delhi & Haryana. Eligibility criteria include a minimum of 50 percent marks in Senior Secondary with English as a compulsory subject. Haryana residents belonging to SC/ST categories receive a 5 percent relaxation in marks if applying through the Haryana Board. The duration of the course is 2 years.
