CTET Coaching

CTET stands for Central Teacher’s Eligibility Test, which was introduced in 2011. This test is governed by NCTE and conducted by CBSE. It is mandatory to qualify for this test as per regulations laid by the governing body if you wish to become a teacher. In the current scenario, only qualified candidates are considered for government jobs, but in the long run, even private schools would also execute this criterion of requirement. Any aspirant with completion of their D.Ed or B.Ed has to qualify CTET to become eligible to pursue a teaching career.

CTET is conducted twice a year in the months of Jan-Feb and Jul-Aug sessions. It happens to be an objective type test that covers portions from pedagogy and course contents from standard 1st to 8th.

The test has been designed based on the parameters of classes given. D.Ed qualified candidates are considered for primary level teaching and termed under paper – l, whereas B.Ed qualified candidates are eligible for lower secondary classes and termed under paper – ll.

The syllabus for paper – l covers contents from child development pedagogy, English, Hindi, and Environmental Studies up to class V.

In paper – ll, science, maths, and social studies are there apart from languages as there are two streams (Arts & Science) available as per the choice of the candidate.

Aspirants pursuing under Arts stream will be getting questions from SST, whereas those who are under Science stream should have knowledge in the domain of science and mathematics.

What is the eligibility for the CTET exam?

Eligibility for paper-I (PRT): 12th (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks OR graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of JBT / D.Ed.

Eligibility for paper-II (TGT/PGT): Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of B.Ed. OR 12th standard (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of the 4-year B.Ed integrated program.

Exam structure of CTET:

There will be 150 MCQs with four alternatives in the answer carrying one mark each. There is no negative marking in the CTET exam. A candidate who wants to be PRT & TGT both level teachers will have to appear in both papers.

An aspirant with a score of 60% or more is considered a TET pass candidate.
The validity period of CTET qualification is SEVEN years from the date of the declaration of its result.
A candidate can take multiple attempts to secure her certificate. Qualified candidates can also appear in the exam to improve her score.
